Kent Boettcher Obituary

Kent D. Boettcher, age 61, passed away peacefully at home, March 20th 2024, with his two loving daughters each holding his hand. He was born on June 10th, 1962, son of June (Luebke) Boettcher and the late Norman Boettcher.

Kent dedicated his life to the families he served as a funeral director. His passion for funeral service was unmatched. In 1996, his dream of owning his own funeral home became a reality when he built the Boettcher Family Funeral Home in Kaukauna. He was so proud of his commitment to the community, and the 22 years at his beloved location before his retirement in 2018. During his retirement he enjoyed spending his time helping at the Heart of the Valley Food Pantry. In the summer months you’d find him at the family cabin, in Cecil Wisconsin, with an ice cold drink in one hand and a fishing pole in the other. Kent was extremely outgoing, no matter where he went, he always made a friend.

In Kent’s earlier years, he would spend time in Beloit training horses. Most notably, the horse “Mishap,” who three years later, became the #2 horse in the nation and would end up in the Hall of Fame. Kent always had a deep passion for horses.

Most importantly, Kent loved his family. His two daughters were the light of his life, and of whom he was most proud of them both. He was a loving and proud “Papa” to his four grandchildren, who he loved tremendously. He enjoyed being able to spend more time with them in his retirement, and he was the most happy with his girls and grandchildren.

Kent is survived by his daughters: Nicole (Jordan Peters) Boettcher and her children: Cayden and Kendall; and MacKenzie (Jake) Laack and their children: Kinsley and Presley; his mother, June Boettcher; brother, Kurt (Debbie) Boettcher; sister, Kathy Baake; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Kent was preceded in death by his father, Norman Boettcher; brother-in-law, Ron Baake; and his former wife, Lisa (Otto) Boettcher.
