Keith A. Piepenburg, age 70, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026. He was born on September 2, 1955, to Wallace and Dorothy (Griepentrog) Piepenburg. On July 11, 1975, Keith was united in marriage to Pat Mischler, and together they shared 50 years of love, partnership, and family.
Keith had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. For 35 years, he and Pat served as camp hosts at state parks, a role that reflected their love of nature and community. He also cherished time spent at the family cottage. Keith found joy in bike rides, golfing, and fishing, and he enjoyed quieter moments working on puzzles or watching NASCAR. In recent years, he also enjoyed being part of First Congregational United Church of Christ and the sense of fellowship it brought. Keith dedicated his working years to Baisch, where he was employed until his retirement. Known for his great sense of humor, Keith’s laughter and warmth were gifts to those around him. Above all else, he treasured time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and his dog Tinkerbell.
Keith is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Pat Piepenburg; his children, Adam (Jean) Piepenburg and Amber (Shaun) McDonald; and his beloved grandchildren—Natalie, Carter, Ryder, Easton, Liam, and Eli. He is also survived by his siblings, Cheryl (Jim) Roovers, Bryan (Peg) Piepenburg, and Joel (Nancy) Piepenburg; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob (Donna) Mischler, Sue (Cy) Mader, Tom (Allison) Mischler, Tim (Tricia) Mischler, Deb (Mark) Mitchell, and David Mischler (special friend Patti); along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, John VanderZanden; and his parents-in-law, Irene and Robert Mischler.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate nursing staff—especially Connie—at Froedtert Center for Advanced Care, as well as the staff at Kathy’s House in Milwaukee, for their care and support.
In keeping with Keith’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be held on June 27, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Lion’s Park in Appleton.
