Karen Ott Obituary

Karen L. “Meehlie” Ott, age 64, passed away peacefully in her home on May 17, 2023 after being surrounded by loved ones the last days of her life. She was born on July 15, 1958, daughter of Owen and Ruth (Kroeger) Meehl.

Karen worked for Piggly Wiggly for 34 years at the Kaukauna and Little Chute locations. At the time of her retirement, she was the head of the bakery department and took great pride in her work. She made many lifelong friendships with her co-workers. Karen made friends easily as she was always very social and enjoyed people. She was an avid quilter, a fierce card player (especially sheepshead) and a master canner. She was famous for her pickles. Karen loved the Packers and spending time in her yard cutting the lawn. In recent years, she welcomed grandchildren into her home and loved spoiling them. She was an amazing mom, grandma, daughter, sister and dear friend to many. Her quick-wit and huge heart will be deeply missed by all.

Karen is survived by her children: Adam (Brie) Ott and Emily (Noah) Wichman; grandchildren: Hudson Ott, Lincoln and Allie Wichman; mother, Ruth Meehl; siblings: Jeff (Mary) Meehl, Nancy Dey (Dave Buchinger) and Sandy (Jesse) Weiland; brothers and sisters-in-law: Patti Christopherson, Kathy Weber, Ron (Bonnie) Ott, Peg Giordana, Tammy (Harv) Siebers and Terry (Laura) Ott; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends, including her beloved card groups. The family is especially grateful for Carol (Helf) Stover, Karen's lifelong friend, and her husband Ward, who gave so selflessly to help Karen and her family over the years.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Ott; father, Owen Meehl; Mike’s parents, Kenneth and Helen Ott; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dick Dey, Tom Ott, Carla Ott, Ed Weber, Tommy Giordana and Jim Christopherson.
