Joyce M. Golden, age 83, of Little Chute, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on February 20, 1939 to the late Norbert and Harriet (Schumacher) Green. On September 1, 1959 she married the love of her life, James “Jim” Golden. They enjoyed 63 wonderful years together.
Joyce worked at AAL (Thrivent) until the time of her retirement. She also drove school bus for many years for Kobussen when her children were younger. She enjoyed camping, traveling, walking and reading.
Joyce is survived by her children, who were always very important to her. Even in the end she always wanted to make sure they were safe. They became just a familiar face to her but you could tell she knew how important they were. Her children: John (Cheryl) Golden, Donn (Kay) Golden, Ann (Mike) Vosters, Dale (Ann) Golden, Kip (Allison) Golden and Sara (Steve) Emmer. She had 15 grandchildren that no matter what they were involved in she would try to support them and she was always proud of them. The grandchildren: Kristina (Brandon) Hemstead and Matt (Casey) Golden, Mike, David and Scott Golden, Bo and Abe (Karley) Vosters, Arianna and Hannah Golden, Carter, Alliyah, Jaymick and Malayna Golden, Caleb (Janice Conlon) and Saige Emmer. Joyce also had six great grandchildren who would brighten her day and who she always had a smile for when they visited. She is further survived by sisters: Elaine (Dan) Bowers and Donna Woldt, and two sisters-in-law: Bernie Green and Bonnie Golden.
Joyce was preceded in death by her loving parents, Norbert and Harriet Green; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Thomas and Myrtle Golden; her sister and brother: Janet Van Hoof and Earl Green; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: James Van Hoof, Robert Woldt, Robert (Shirley) Golden, Lee (Florence) Golden, Margaret (Harold) Kunert, Pat (Elmer) Coats, Gerald Golden and William Golden.
The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 6, 2022 at St. John Nepomuceno Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute with Father Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until time of the Mass. Anyone wishing to view the service online may do so at www.stjn.org. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
