Jon v. Straumfjord

Jon Vidalin Straumfjord III, age 72 of Kaukauna went home to be with The Lord on Jan 17, 2025. He was born on Dec 23, 1952 in Portland Oregon.

Jon received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1976 from University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. He later went on to receive a Bible and Doctoral degree in Ministerial studies from Berean Assembly of God and a Counseling degree from University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh.

Jon met his wife Mary while studying music at University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and they married August 14, 1976.

Jon enjoyed teaching music and playing several instruments during worship at churches.

Jon suffered from MS for several years but his strong love and faith in Jesus sustained him through pain and the gradual decline of mobility. Jon's love for The Lord radiated in his conversations with family, friends and new people he met. He loved to read his Bible and share it with others.

Jon loved his family and faithfully prayed for them with anticipation of what God was going to do. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 48 years, Mary: his son Daniel, (Sarah)Straumfjord; son,Christopher,(Sally),Straumfjord; Michelle, (Jacob) Bolton; Angie( John) Wilson; and his 6 grandchildren.

Jon is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Jon V Straumfjord and Patricia Straumfjord.

Jon was excited to meet His Savior and we have assurance of meeting him again in Heaven. I am confident he will give me a smile and continue to play his instruments for Jesus.

The memorial service for Jon will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Breakthrough Covenant Church, 215 E. Washington St., Appleton.  A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
