Joel Walter Kuhner

Joel Kuhner was born in Hudson, NY on June 18, 1939 to Arthur and LenaMae Kuhner.  At 17 years old he joined the Navy. Following the Navy he joined the Air Force until retirement. During his Air Force years he served in Viet Nam and Cambodia.

He married Marlene Dupee in 1973 at Duluth AFB where they remained until he retired in 1979. That same year they moved to Castile NY and attended Elohim Bible Institute majoring in Theology. Upon graduating he was ordained at his first church in Birdsall, NY. where they both served God in special ways. Over the years they ministered in several churches as well as being missionaries in Southern Ireland.

Joel was an avid hunter and enjoyed the great outdoors. 

He is survived by his wife Marlene of 50 years, 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  He resided at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna, WI. 

His favorite verse is found in Phil. 4:13 where it reminded him that he could do all things through Christ who strengthened him.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, N2665 County road QQ, King, WI, meeting at the Cemetery Administration building at 12:45 p.m.  Following the service a dinner will be served at the Chain of Lakes Bar and Grill Beach House, N 2598 Hwy QQ, Waupaca at 2:00 p.m.  If you will be attending the dinner please let Jill know at 407-495-7720.
