Joann L. Schiedermayer, age 83, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 27, 1942 in Appleton, daughter of the late Bob and Margaret (Becker) Van Ryzin. Joann was a graduate of Appleton West High School class of 1960. She married Leo Schiedermayer on November 12, 1960. Their marriage was blessed with three children and 63 years. Along with her strong faith and love for the Lord, Joann enjoyed cross stitching, reading, knitting, and adult coloring books.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Scott (Karen) Schiedermayer, of Appleton, Laurie (Carl) Schmidt, of Kaukauna, and Mark Schiedermayer, of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren: Jason, Corbin, Kelly, Robbie, Tami, Dakota, Montana; great-grandchildren: Paislee, Peyton, Archer, Saydee, Adriana; brother, Bob Van Ryzin; sister-in-law, Paula Smith; nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Joann is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo; brother, Tom (Christy) Van Ryzin; in-laws: Max and Julia (Brux) Schiedermayer; sisters-in-law: Nancy Van Ryzin, Sharon (Jack) Kunstman; and brother-in-law, James Smith.
A memorial service to celebrate Joann’s life will be held privately with family and close friends.
