Joan B. (Schmidt) Woldt

Joan (Schmidt) Woldt, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She was born on June 26, 1952 to the late Lawrence and Loretta (Ashauer) Schmidt.

Joan married Steven Woldt on February 24, 1978 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Kaukauna. She was employed with US Venture for over 40 years before retiring in 2018 where she created many lasting connections and friendships over the years. In her free time, Joan enjoyed making heartfelt custom cards for her family and friends to help celebrate many milestones and events. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, spending time on the computer, and of course, spending time with her family and friends. Joan and Steve cherished their lunch dates at Rose Hill Bar where they were able to spend quality time together but also socialize with their friends.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Steve Woldt; son, Clint (Andrea) Woldt; daughter, Melissa (Judd) Hammen; grandchildren: Allison (Jaylen) Peterson of Osceola and Carter (special friend McKenzie) Woldt; sibling: Rose Heegeman and Paul (Deb) Schmidt; brothers and sisters-in-law: Donna Schmidt, Dave (Kay) Woldt, Michael Woldt of Janesville, Linda Hopfensperger, Karen Petrasko, Ann (Rick) Smith of California, Mark (Christy) Woldt, and Neil (Leah) Woldt; nephew, Cory (Katie) Woldt and great niece, Emily Priebe who were always so helpful to Joan; as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her in-laws: Gordon and Margaret Woldt; brothers: Mark, Earl, Alan, and Neil Schmidt; sister, Ruthie Lemke; nephew, Hunter Woldt; and brothers-in-law: Keith Hopfensperger and George Petrasko.

A funeral service for Joan will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service. Joan will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
