Joan M. Wendt

Joan M. Wendt, 91, wife of the late Louis Wendt, born to Peter and Clementine Wachtendonk, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

Joan married the love of her life, Louis Wendt, on November 29, 1952. She worked at Rich’s Bakery for 29 years. In her spare time, Joan enjoyed making candy, doing puzzles, and was an avid reader. Family was Joan’s life and she loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Joan is survived by her children: Marge (Bernie) Piette of Greenville, Louis (Kris) Wendt Jr. of Darboy, Steve (Carol) Wendt of Mackville, Susan (Lee) Salvo of Florida, Patti (Vern) Harris of Appleton, and Scott Wendt of Seymour; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; and her siblings: Henry Wachtendonk, Richard (Virginia) Wachtendonk, Agnes (Robert) Baehlor, and Florine (Alvin) Blohm.

A Mass will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 915 Ivory Street, Seymour, WI with Fr. Bob Kabat presiding. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the mass.

In lieu of flowers and plants, donations may be directed to: St. Vincent de Paul, St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, or the Salvation Army in Joan’s honor.
