Joan Margaret Verbrick, age 87, of Little Chute passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Brewster Village in Appleton. She was born on April 19, 1936, daughter of the late William and Christine Vanden Heuvel. She married Joe Verbrick on June 21, 1958 at St. John Nepomucene Church in Little Chute. They renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary. She was employed in the cafeteria at Lawrence University for 31 years. She really enjoyed her job and the people she met there.
Joan loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids! She enjoyed going out to eat, watching the ME TV channel, watching Sunday Mass on TV, and reading. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to festivals and concerts with her husband, playing cards and dice with family and friends, going to the casino with her sister, and getting together with their group of friends.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Shari (Scott) Van Asten; her son, Jay (Shelly); grandson Josh (Amber) Janssen and their kids: Sophie and Sawyer; granddaughter Meghan Verbrick and her daughter, Teagan; sister-in-law, Vicki (Tim) Tousey; brother-in-law, Vance (Pam) Verbrick; good friends: Pat, Peggy, and Mary; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; parents-in-law, Grace and Willard Verbrick; sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret (Chub) Vander Velden; Doris (Ted) Heid; Alice (Paul) Hermsen; Mary (Casey) Verbruggen; brother Leo (Delores) Vanden Heuvel; brother-in-law, Bucky Verbrick; niece, Judy Vander Velden; nephews: Lee Verbruggen; Troy Tousey; Scot Heid; Jim Vander Velden; Jack Vanden Heuvel; Marc Heid.
Funeral Mass for Joan will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Church (411 Vandenbroek St., Little Chute) with Father Ron Belitz officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Joan will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.
