Jimmie E. Gibson, 84, passed away on April 30, 2023 at home. Jimmie was born on June 30, 1938 to James and Maize (Jaimerson) Gibson in St. Louis Missouri. He was a veteran having served in the US Airforce. On October 1, 1982 he was united in marriage to Linda Jansen. He worked as a sales rep in the flooring industry until his retirement. Jimmie loved to dance, especially the jitterbug and enjoyed watching sports, the Cardinals were his favorite team. Most of all his family was important to him and he always enjoyed the time they spent together.
Jimmie is survived by his wife Linda, children; Mark (Sarah) Gibson, Diana (John) Lowery, Joan (Mike) Rupp, Amy McKee, Brenda (Keith) Weyenberg, Jennifer Purdy (Frank) Gutierrez and Jamie Purdy, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, brothers; Jimmy Cadwell, Ricky Cadwell and a sister Debbie Odam, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Nancy (Ron Kons) Vanevenhoven, Katie (Marty) Marasch, Steve (Diane) Jansen, Cindy (Mark) Verhagen, Julie (Bruce) Verhagen, special friends; Mike Nagel, Chuck Conger and Judith Brown and his fur baby Precious, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Dannie Gibson, step moms; Em Gibson and Janette Gibson, a brother LaMar Cadwell, sister Bertha “Sis” Gibson, sister-in-law Charlene (Jim) Bricco, brother-in-law Bruce Vanevenhoven and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Grace and Dick Jansen. The memorial service for Jimmie will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the Verkuilen Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute.
