Gerald P. Van Nuland, age 80, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024. He was born on April 10, 1944 to the late Anton and Marie (Ver Voort) Van Nuland.
Jerry attended Holy Name and was a graduate of Kimberly High School Class of 1963. He was a member of the United States Army and bravely served his country while stationed in Korea. Jerry was an employee of Winnebago Color Press and Ascension for many years. Jerry was very active and was a member of the Appleton YMCA for 40 years! One of his favorite activities was biking. Jug was a huge sports fan as well and he loved cheering on his favorite teams including: the San Francisco 49ers, the Boston Celtics, the Michigan State Spartans, and the LA Dodgers. He loved spending time with his family especially long lunches with Tom, Pat, Mary Kay and Bill.
Jug is survived by his siblings: Tom (Pat) Van Nuland and Mary Kay (Bill) Kaufman; nieces and nephews: Bill (Jen) Van Nuland, Amy (Mike) Scherwinski, Lori (Dave) Vannett, Jeff Piette, Ryan (Rachel) Kaufman, Ross (Michelle) Kaufman, and Katie (Jason) Rasmussen; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jug was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law: Barb and John Piette.
A Memorial Service for Jug will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna.
