Jerome "Mouse" Gerrits

Jerome “Mouse” Gerrits, 79 passed away at home with his family by his side on March 24, 2026.

Mouse was born on August 16, 1946 to Urban and Selma (Lau) Gerrits.

 Mouse was a Vietnam Veteran having served from 1966 to 1968. In 1968 he joined the Carpenters Local Union 955. After working a couple places and building houses he went to work for Boldt Construction from where he retired after 40-years. Once a Carpenter, always a Carpenter and always working on a project!

He greatly enjoyed the annual deer hunt with his boys! In the early days he enjoyed bowling in the leagues at Village Lanes in Little Chute and New London Lanes with the locals.

When his health would allow, Mouse and Diane loved traveling through Wisconsin and neighboring states.

He was always there for help and supporting others through fund raisers and basket raffles, and yes he had a bit of luck on his side! Mouse also enjoyed a little gambling at the local establishments playing his favorite “the puppy machine” and taking his chances on the boards.

Mouse was a kid again every August, “Birthday Month” celebrated all month which included his annual Birthday Party at the Hortonville Harley Raffle.

He was a member of the New London Legion Post 263,  VFW, DAV and a former MDR Lions Club member.

Mouse is survived by his sons, Gary (Sherri Woldt) Gerrits and Rick Gerrits (special friend, Krysta Dorn and her children: Blake (fiance Hannah Giese), Eve and Hope Johnson): his other half; Diane Muskevitsch along with her children: Tracy (Paul) Jarchow and Travis (Noemi) Muskevitsch; grandchildren: Jolyn (Dren) Bleick, Daniel Jarchow and Mariah, Noah & Kaiah Muskevitsch. Great-grandchildren: Willow, River & Adalyn Bleick along with her siblings: Dave (Carol) Magolski, Daryl (special friend Mary Emerson) Magolski and Darwin Magolski. His siblings, Urban (Gretchen) Gerrits and Barb DeGroot; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, George (Marian) Gerrits, Joanne (Lee) Mueller, Brother in law Dick DeGroot along with nieces; Lisa Gerrits ,Vicki Kerry  and nephew in law; Kevin Tepp.

The funeral Mass for Mouse will be held on the Friday after Easter April 10, 2026 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna. Visitation will take place at the church on Friday from 1:00 -3:00. Mass at 3:00.
