Jerald Ruechel, age 97, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 1, 2022. He was born on May 24, 1925.
Jerald was a member of the US Army and proudly served his country. On September 15, 1951 he married the love of his life, Carol Malueg in Kimberly and together they shared 71 years of marriage. Jerald spent most of his career at the Kimberly Paper Mill where he retired at the age of 62 in 1987. He enjoyed family brunches on the weekends as well as tending to his garden and hunting.
Jerald is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his two daughters: Connie Duchow and Christy (Don) Wynkoop; three grandchildren: Lucas and Marcus Duchow and Jericho “Jeri” Feistel, along with her service dog, Raven. Jerald was truly blessed to be further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy; his parents: William Sr. and Marie Ruechel and his brothers: Raymond and William Jr.
A funeral service for Jerald will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 705 E. Greenfield Dr., Little Chute. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church and will continue until the time of the service. Jerald will be laid to rest in Highland Memorial Park.
