Jeffrey Allen Schopp, 66, went home to the Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2026 after along and well-fought battle with heart disease and diabetes. Jeff was born on October 12, 1959 to Edward and Dolores (Pawlinski) Schopp in Joliet, Illinois. He was the fifth of six children and grew up in central Milwaukee during the turbulent ‘60s and ‘70s, where he fostered an independent spirit and system of values that he passed on to his sons. On September 30, 1989 he was united in marriage to Christine Ashauer.
Jeff worked in heavy industry for most of his life. He frequently spoke with pride on having built parts for nuclear reactors with Babcock & Wilcox in Milwaukee and for working on The World’s Greatest Fire Trucks” at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton. After an early retirement from disability, Jeff lived a quiet life in Little Chute with his wife and youngest son Andy, where he was active in church and his sons Scouting Troop 51.
Jeff will be remembered for his lively personality, unshakable faith in Jesus, and stories of his family, his many travels, and extraordinary tales from ‘70s Milwaukee of life, love, adventure, and unauthorized drag racing. He loved cars, guns, blues, and rock and roll.
Jeff is survived by his wife Chris, sons; Adam (Amanda) Schopp, and Andy Schopp, granddaughter Aspen Schopp, siblings; Tim (Diana) Schopp, Randy (Sandy) Schopp, Vicki Hough, Bobbi (Pat) McCoy, and Joe Schopp, a brother-in-law Joe (Debbie) Ashauer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Jeff will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 2136 E Newberry St., Appleton. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Entombment will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
