Jean Collura

Jean Collura, age 84, of Appleton, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away at her residence on September 24, 2019. She was born in the town of Maplehurst on December 17, 1934, daughter of the late Savery and Regina (Bonczkiewicz) Szczesniak. Jean married Frank Collura and together they celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.

Jean worked for WTMJ in Milwaukee for 33 years before her retirement. She was extremely giving. She made Christmas cookies for everyone and enjoyed giving away sweaters, afghans and blankets that she knitted. Jean also enjoyed flowers and gardening and loved her four fur-babies tremendously.

Jean is survived by her siblings: Trudy (Klayton) Micke, Lori (Jim) Halpin and Bernie (Fran) Szczesniak; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents, Savery and Regina Szczesniak; and siblings: Ceil (Bill) Dmytro, Dot (Dick) Krueger and Edward Szczesniak.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home FREEDOM LOCATION, N3972 Columbia Ave., Freedom. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
