Janice Mary (Verkuilen) Jansen passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, December 22, 2025 at the age of 86. She was born August 16, 1939 to Theodore Sr. and Mary (Fleischmann) Verkuilen.
Janice attended St. Johns Catholic School in Little Chute, where she was a life long resident. She worked at Zwickers Knitting Mill in her earlier years. She married the love of her life, Carl Jansen, they were blessed with four children. She worked as a housekeeper at Parkside Care Center for many years. Janice had a kind soul, she was very caring and giving. Janice enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers with her family. She had a love for music and playing her accordion. She loved her many dogs (especially chihuahuas) and enjoyed building her jigsaw puzzles.
Janice is survived by her son, Thomas (Robin) Jansen; daughters: Pamela (Joseph) Fritz and Darlene (fiancé Patrick Spreeman) Jansen; grandchildren: Jessica (Dustin) Boushley, Michelle (Zachary) Schumacher, and Kelly (Nicholas) Effa; great grandchildren: Maddie, Ayden, and Kinsley Boushley; sister-in-law, Nancy Jansen; good friend and cousin, Carol; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband Carl Jansen (in 1995); son, George Jansen (in 2023); grandson, Jeremy Jansen (in 2018); brothers: Theodore (Rosemary) Verkuilen, Richard (Linda) Verkuilen, and Michael (Lillian) Verkuilen; sisters: Mary Beth (Bernard) VandenBloomer Belanger, Margaret Ann Verkuilen; in-laws: George and Josephine Jansen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul (Evelyn) Jansen and Jody Jansen.
Per Janice’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. A private graveside service will be held for family. Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, Little Chute, has been entrusted to assist the family during this time. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
