Janel K. Cody Obituary
Janel K. Cody, age 74, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026. She was born in Green Bay on July 9, 1951 to the late William and Irene (Benning) Cody.
A graduate of Green Bay West High School Class of 1969, she built a life rooted in compassion, hard work, and deep devotion to family. Alongside her beloved spouse, Jan, she co-owned and operated Quality Mail Marketing for 27 years, creating not only a successful business but a legacy of dedication and partnership. Their marriage, united on October 7, 1989, was one of enduring love, laughter, and unwavering support through 38 beautiful years together.
Janel found her greatest peace at the cottage, where life slowed down and the simple joys mattered most. Whether taking boat rides across the water, enjoying quiet moments outdoors, or capturing memories through her camera lens, she treasured every season of life. Her photographs became keepsakes of the people and moments she loved most.
More than anything, Janel adored her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every hug, gathering, picture, and memory made with them. Her love was gentle, steady, and unconditional, the kind that made everyone feel safe and deeply cared for.
Janel found joy in life’s simple comforts; cozy evenings spent watching the Hallmark Channel, especially during the Christmas season she adored so much. Christmas was truly magical to her, filled with warmth, traditions, and love for family gatherings. She also had a gift in the kitchen and was an amazing cook, known for meals that brought everyone together around the table. Her home was always welcoming, filled with comfort, laughter, and the kind of love you could feel the moment you walked through the door.
In retirement, Janel embraced life fully, enjoying time with family, peaceful days at the cottage, and the happiness found in everyday moments. She will be remembered as an absolute loving and genuine person whose warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so fiercely, the memories she captured so beautifully, and the kindness she carried into every room.
Janel is survived by her spouse, Jan Hermes; children: Michelle (John) Keough, Melissa School, Zachary (Tsion) Hermes; grandchildren: Megan, Rianna and Kailey Keough, Moti, Rayyah and Raji Hermes; brothers: Paul (Lynda) Cody, Jeff (Judy) Cody; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Ellen Hermes, Henry McKenna, Paul (Darlene) Hermes, Peter (Laurie) Hermes.
