Jane M. Hertel

Jane Hertel, age 95 of Chilton, went home to be with her Lord on June 7, 2024. She was born on March 20, 1929, daughter of the late John and Martha (Anheier) Weber.

Jane attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School, and was a graduate of Hilbert High School class of 1946. She married Earl "Tom" Hertel on June 17, 1950 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert. Jane was employed at the Calumet County Court House, Register of Deeds office and a typesetter at the Chilton Times Journal. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, visiting children and grandchildren, the love of her life. Jane was a devoted follower of Jesus, and a member of Brillion Community Church in Brillion. She enjoyed participating in a Bible Study at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna where she was a resident.

Survivors include her children: Michael Hertel, Douglas Hertel, David Hertel, Kathy Krause, and Ken Hertel; four grandchildren: Matthew Krause, Walker Hertel, Serena Hertel, and Ben Hertel; two great grandchildren: Chloe Ellis and Kai Krause. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hertel; her parents, John and Martha Weber; two grandsons: Hunter Hertel and Chase Hertel; two brothers: Roger Weber and Jerome Weber; a sister, Jeanette Weber; sister-in-law, Ruth Wagner; and a niece, JoAnn Wagner.

Jane's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Paul Elder Services and Hospice for their very kind and loving care given to her and her entire family.

Per Jane's wishes a private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that charitable donations be made to St. Paul's hospice care.
