James Argo Simon

James Argo Simon, 89, passed away from natural causes in Idabel, Oklahoma on September 8, 2021.

Jim was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Argo George Simon and Lylah(Allwardt) Simon on November 10, 1931. He was raised in Kaukauna, Wisconsin and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1949. After serving in the Korean War as a Military Intelligence officer, he graduated from Montana Tech University with a Degree in Mining Engineering in 1956.

In 1955 he married Donna Jean Siebers. Donna and Jim raised four children in the states of Montana, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Arkansas, and Washington.

Jim worked in the Wood Products Industry. He ended up managing MDF factories across the United States for Weyerhauser and other notable companies. Later in his career he was a consultant in the construction of MDF factories around the world.

In 1979 he was honored to serve as Master of Ceremonies at the Kaukauna High School Alumni Rally.

A great conversationalist, Jim could and would talk to anyone about anything. He could fix just about anything. He loved golfing, particularly with Donna. They also traveled often. A couple times per year they would circle the country to visit and frolic with their eight Grandchildren.

He was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Idabel, OK.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Donna Jean (Siebers);  Son Thomas (Teresa) Simon of Evanston, WY; Daughter Susan (Gary) James of Little Rock, AR; Son Michael (Nancy) Simon of Hochatown, OK; and Son Daniel (Traci) Simon of Coeur d Alene, ID; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home KAUKAUNA LOCATION, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday morning at St. Katharine Drexel Parish – St. Mary Church, 119 E. 7th Street, Kaukauna, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in St Mary’s Cemetery.
