Gerald "Jerry" Diedrich

Gerald “Jerry” Diedrich, 76, of Kaukauna passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from complications from a fall. Jerry was born on November 12, 1946 in Hilbert, WI to Math and Catherine (Cordy) Diedrich, and attended St. Mary Grade school and graduated from Hilbert High School.

On June 12, 1971 Jerry married Joyce (Duchow) Diedrich and they resided in the Kaukauna area. They celebrated 52 years recently. After graduation he worked in construction and started his own business doing carpentry until his retirement in 2010.  He loved to help his family with building projects and loved to golf, ride ATV’s, cut people’s lawns, make puzzles and travel with Joyce. He always had a project going in his shop to make something for a friend or family member.

He was extremely proud of his two daughters and three granddaughters: Jolynn (Ben) Ives (daughters: Emilia, Ellery and Juliana) and Jill Diedrich. They brought joy and laughter to his life.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, daughters, grandchildren, and son-in-law. He had many fun times with his siblings: Millie (Jack) Nett, Tony (Joan), Jack (Joan), Mike (Kathy), Cathy (Scott) Armhein, Frank (Sherry), Russ (Deb), and Ellen (Lee) Pattermann. Also, his sister and brother-in-law: Janet and Bill Schroeder; Godchildren:  Dan Diedrich, Rayelle Diedrich and Matt Diedrich. Jerry enjoyed being with his many nieces and nephews too.

Preceding him in death were his parents: Math and Catherine; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harold and Irene Duchow; and brothers: David and Jim; and brothers-in-law: Jack Nett and Jim Schabach.

A celebration of life will be held at Verkuilen- Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 with Rev. Walter Steinbach officiating.
