Gerad D. Gast

Gerad D. Gast, age 50, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 14, 1972 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Daniel and Rhonda (Guyette) Gast.  

Gerad attended Northern Illinois University where he played baseball and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management. After working in the electrical industry for many years he pursued his dream and started his own electrical rep agency, AGI Sales, with his longtime friend, Andrew Rychlewski. On October 15, 2011 he married the love of his life, Megan Bradley, and together they raised four wonderful children. Gerad loved spending time with his family, especially up north at the cottage, playing and coaching baseball, fishing, hunting, golfing, and watching his kids in all their extracurricular activities. He will be remembered for being an amazing husband, father, friend, and for his kind heart, generosity, and selflessness. 

Gerad is survived by his loving wife, Megan; his four children: Isabel 24, Eli 21, Emilee 10, and Cooper 9; his mom Rhonda (Guyette) Gast; sister Paula (Ron) Neerdaels; nephews: Henry, Daniel, and Kyle Neerdaels; in-laws, Jeff and Mary Bradley; brothers-in-law: Keven (Taylor) Bradley and Brian (Laura) Bradley; and nephew David Bradley. 

He was preceded in death by his dad Daniel Gast. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, W2037 County Rd. S, Freedom. Visitation will begin at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. For online condolences please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
