Hollandtown – Gary P. “Butch” Vande Wettering, age 80, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on December 4, 2021. He was born on May 6, 1941, son of the late John and Marie (Vande Ven) Vande Wettering. On October 20, 1962, Gary married Patty Weyenberg and she preceded him in death after 57 years together. Gary was a long time member of St. Katherine Drexel-St. Francis Church in Hollandtown.
Gary is survived by his children: Jeff (Kathy) Vande Wettering, Deb (Dave) Zunker, Scott (Diane) Vande Wettering, Laurie (Kevin) Veldman; grandchildren: Phillip (Stephanie), Marc and Jon (fiancé, Taylor Kuehl) Vande Wettering, Kayla (Kevin) Coffey, Andy Zunker, Logan and Ross (special friend, Ashley Hocking) Vande Wettering, Ryan (Tessa) Veldman, Maddy (fiancé Zach Ziegelbauer) Veldman; great-grandchildren: Cecelia & Dexter Vande Wettering and Sawyer & Henley Coffey; siblings: Jim Vande Wettering, Dick (Donna) Vande Wettering, Sue Lowney, Dan (Jayne) Vande Wettering; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patty Vande Wettering; parents, John and Marie Vande Wettering; siblings: Blackie Vande Wettering and Cleo Romenesko; father and mother-in-law, Cy and Stenie Weyenberg; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mike Lowney, LaVerne (Ray) Romenesko and Betty (Bill) Stilp.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish-St. Francis Site, 433 County Road CE, Hollandtown, with Fr. Don Everts officiating.
