Gary L. Nabbefeld

Gary L. "Nabber" Nabbefeld, 71 of Kaukauna passed away unexpectedly January 3rd, 2024. He was born on July 3rd, 1952 to the late Robert and Lorraine (Hopfensperger) Nabbefeld. He graduated from Kaukauna High School class of 1971. On January 17th, 1985 Gary married Brigette Urban, they were blessed with two daughters.

Gary enlisted in the Navy in 1972 where he spent 3 years as a Boiler Technician. After his time in service, he was employed by Giddings and Lewis in Kaukauna and the Little Chute School District, where he has been working for more than 40 years.

Gary enjoyed car shows, motorcycles, spending time up north, mowing his lawn, reading car magazines, stock car racing, bike rides, and music. Most importantly, he loved sharing every moment possible with his many family members, friends, and especially his grandchildren.  

Gary is survived by his wife, Brigette; children: Emily (Cory) Niesen, Lindsey (David) Salazar; grandchildren: Nathan Hooyman, Delaney and Lilah Niesen, Addison and Corbin Phillips, Dominic, Marcus (Jocelyn), Nathan, Magnus and Angelina Salazar. He is further survived by his brothers: Jim (Sandy) Nabbefeld, Ron (Pam) Nabbefeld, sister Debbie (Don) Koester; father-in-law: George Urban; many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends and others. 

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his mother-in-law: Gloria Urban.

Gary touched many lives over the years. His infectious smile and personality will be missed by all. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of the service. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
