Evelyn F. Gardner

Evelyn Francis Gardner, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 with her husband by her side.  Evelyn was born July 8, 1948 in Glenmore, WI.  She married Emory Roger Gardner on April 12, 1969 at St. Sebastian Church in Isaar, WI, and together they raised three sons in Little Chute, WI.

Evelyn was an incredibly supportive mother and for many years was a Boy Scout den mother.  Over the years she enjoyed gardening, fishing, 4 wheeling from their camper in Silver Cliff, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and watching the Packers and Brewers.  Her passion was quilting.  Creating master pieces which she shared with all.  Her grandchildren were the absolute joys of her life.

Evelyn is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband Emory Gardner; sons, Bill (Lynn) Gardner, Steve (Jill) Gardner, Brian (Kourtney) Gardner; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Brandon, Trevor, Hannah and Miles; and Buddy their dog always by her side.

In addition to her husband and sons, Evelyn is survived by brother Gerald (Joan) Smurawa; twin sister Eleanor (Al) Reindl; brother Matt (Judy) Smurawa; sister Margaret (Al) Abrahamson; brother Lenny (Joanne) Smurawa; and sister-in-law Vickie Jurena.  In additional she loved their many nieces and nephews, and they cherished and admired her in return.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Smurawa; niece Julie Reindl; and brother-in-law Jeff Jurena.

The Memorial service for Evelyn will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 4:00 PM at the VERKUILEN VAN DEURZEN FUNERAL HOME, 101 Canal St., Little Chute. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.verkuilenfh.com.
