Freedom – Evelyn May Diedrick, age 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 18, 2021. She was born on May 23, 1930, daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Walsh) Schuh. Evelyn married Joseph Diedrick on August 3rd, 1949. They were married for 50 years and had 8 children before Joe passed on January 15, 1999.
Evelyn’s favorite activities included playing cards, hosting gatherings for family and friends, and socializing on Friday nights at Buzz’s. Family time was always a priority.
Evelyn worked many jobs over the years, making friends and memories along the way. She was known to be hardworking, mischievous, funny, and most of all, loving. Evelyn was always there – for the good times and for the times her family needed her strength and perseverance. She led with a huge heart, made everyone feel loved and appreciated and never missed a moment to insert her quick wit and sarcasm into every conversation.
Evelyn is survived by her children and grandchildren: Tom Diedrick; Mike (Barb) Diedrick, (Tammy, Terry, Joey and Katrina); Mark (Sue) Diedrick, (Laurie and Dean); Sandy (Roy) Kieffer, (Lonni, Kerri and Stacie); Debbie Wagner (Wendy); Dale (Lorelei) Diedrick, (Crystal and Derrick); Julie (special friend, Chris) Greiner (Kelly and Amanda); numerous great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; brother, John Schuh; in-laws: Jim Goldapske and Delores Diedrick; friends: Russ Mertin, Cathy Doner, Carla Diedrick, Bret Lenz, and many other very special friends, including (all her “favorites”).
Evelyn was preceded in death by her infant son, Joe Jr.; siblings: Rosemary, Jean, Harland, and Merlin; daughter-in-law, Laura Diedrick; sons-in-law: Ric Greiner, Jerry Wagner and Lonnie Landwehr; great grandson, Dillon Weyers; and in-laws: Ernie Diedrick, Viola and Ed Evers, Bernice and Ray VerVoort, and Lorraine and Don Uitenbroek.
