Dennis Voissem

Dennis Voissem, age 89, of Kaukauna passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 23, 2025 at St. Paul Villa surrounded by his beloved family.  He was born on October 8, 1935 in Menasha, Wisconsin, son of the late Anton and Otillia (Jacobs) Voissem.  Dennis was a proud U.S. Marine who fought for our country in the Korean War.  He married Lois (Spoerl) in 1957 and their marriage was blessed with four children.  Lois preceded Dennis in death in 1984.  In 1994 he married Esther (Sahli) and the couple lovingly brought their families together.  Esther preceded him in death in January 2024.  He enjoyed music and had a great singing voice.  He also loved to travel.  Dennis was a devoted husband and father, and loved to brighten everyone’s day with his compassionate sense of humor.  He will be truly missed by those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his children: David (Rebecca) Voissem, Deborah (Mark) Bavousett, Jane (Paul Wells) Smith, Peter (Amy) Veach, and David Veach; grandchildren: Benjamin Voissem, Rachel Voissem, Anne (Tim) Pearce, and Stephen Bavousett; great grandson: Isaac Pearce; siblings: Sister Anton Marie Voissem, Tom (Vida) Voissem, Rita Robinson, and Toni Marciniak; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and his two wives, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia; brothers: Bob (Gerri) Voissem and Francis Voissem; brothers-in-law: John Marciniak and Wayne Robinson.

Funeral Mass for Dennis will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church (2331 E. Lourdes Dr., Appleton) with Father Joe Dorner officiating.  Friends and family will gather at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.

The family would like to thank the caring staff and hospice at St. Paul Villa for their compassion and for giving Dennis the tender care that he so richly deserved.  Your kindness and friendship was beyond measure.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Paul Elder Services in memory of Dennis Voissem.
