Dennis A Deering, age 68, slipped away peacefully in his sleep on October 24, 2024. He left this world in the exact same fashion as he lived his life, quietly and without fanfare. A kind and generous man, his heart of gold grew tired trying to stay ahead of his developing health issues, and laid itself to rest. Now we try to find peace in knowing he no longer struggles, though we are heartbroken to have to say good bye.
Dennis was born July 5, 1956 to Erle and Darlene (Eiting) Deering, and graduated from Wrightstown High School in 1974. Dennis loved being involved in sports in his younger years, and though he dabbled in volleyball and golf, he had a true love for baseball and played league ball for many years. He was also a ferocious reader, give him a couple of good novels and you wouldn’t see him for a week. Dennis was always content to be the silent observer, leaving the loud celebrations and conversations to the more outgoing members of his family, though he never missed a chance to throw in a smartass remark from the sidelines. He was the opposite of materialistic and truly enjoyed the simple things that life had to offer him. Lately he had come to enjoy the social brotherhood of Monday night bingo at Pork’s Bar, where he was always sporting his funny t-shirts hoping to get a laugh. We’ll always smile and remember Dennis’s favorite reply to most any of the deep concerning questions we would direct at him, as we heard it often: “I’m not overly concerned about it” And he wasn’t!
Dennis is survived by his siblings: Neil (Laurie) Deering, Denise (Deering) Knott, and his brother-in-law, Glenn Springstroh. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, who he held very close to his heart. He allowed only a chosen few into his heart as close friends, and he cherished those friendships as his most valued and appreciated asset.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erle and Darlene (Eiting) Deering; his sister, Leanne Springstroh; and his brother-in-law, Steven Knott.
