May 11, 1954 – June 13, 2025
Deborah "Debbie" Van De Hey, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1954, to Roger and Anne Lenegar and was later adopted by Norbert and Margaret Van De Hey of Little Chute. Debbie was known for her feisty personality, quick wit, and her love for both her family and the Green Bay Packers.
A dedicated and hardworking cosmetologist, Debbie took pride in her craft and built lasting relationships through her engaging personality and skillful hands. Those same hands were also gifted at crocheting, spending countless hours and many skeins of yarn lovingly creating beautiful handmade gifts for family and friends.
She was always up for a good giveaway or drawing and often the lucky winner. Her biggest win came when she scored a trip to Super Bowl XLV where she proudly watched the Packers win it all, a memory she cherished for life.
She is survived by her children: Kristi (Josh) Hooyman, Charlie (Danielle) Cronin, and Liz (Cody) Brittnacher. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Liam, Owen, Cole, Oliver, Chloe, and Dillon.
Debbie is also survived by her siblings: Fran (Paul) Kielas, Bob (Susan) Van De Hey, and Mark (Peggy) Lenegar. She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Norbert and Margaret Van De Hey; her birth parents, Roger and Anne Lenegar; and her brothers, Steven Lenegar and Roger Van De Hey.
A casual visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute. Family and friends are invited to stop in, share memories, and celebrate Debbie’s life.
