David A. Kent, D.D.S., of Appleton passed away at home on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born on December 9, 1929 to Carlos and Dorothy (Caughey) Kent in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After graduating from Neenah High School in 1949, David attended UW Madison. David served in the US Navy providing dental services on the aircraft carrier USS Midway. This inspired him to finish his dental training at Marquette Dental School. After graduating with his D.D.S. in 1961, David started his dental practice in Brillion and later relocated to Appleton. He truly enjoyed being a dentist, caring for his patients and the friendships he formed with them. David retired in 2006 after more than 45 years in practice.
On December 29, 1959 David was united in marriage to Judy Ditter. David loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, especially family holidays and trips. In his younger years, David was an avid sailor and enjoyed many weekends sailing with his first mate, Judy, on Lake Winnebago. David also enjoyed woodworking and home improvement projects, especially those requested by his daughters. Some of his favorite memories were wintering in Florida, traveling with family, and sailing in the BVIs.
David is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Kent; children, Becky (Jim) Abendroth, Christine (Larry) Corsi, David Kent, Aimee (Cary) Grunder; grandchildren, Andrew and Isabelle Abendroth, Nicholas and Emma Corsi, Sophie and Tess Grunder; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
