David L. Dupont

David L. Dupont passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born on March 13, 1945, in Kimberly, WI to Irene and William Dupont. Dave was the youngest of 4 children; he had two older sisters and one sister who passed as an infant.

Dave was married on October 21, 1967 to Ann K. Smudde at St. Nicholas Church in Freedom, WI. He was a graduate of Kimberly High School Class of 1963. After school, Dave proudly chose to serve his country and enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1962 to 1968. In 1964, Dave was deployed to Vietnam and was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War. After returning from the war, he worked for CN Railroad for many years until his retirement.

In his spare time, Dave, was an avid fisherman. He especially enjoyed muskie fishing and took several fishing trips to Canada. Dave and his family made many great memories spending time at the cottage on Pelican Lake. He was also a huge Brewers fan. Above all else, family was most important to Dave. He truly cherished his time spent with his grandchildren over the years keeping up with their different sporting events and activities.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Ann; two sons: Doug (Kelly) of Darien, CT and Todd (Jeni) of De Pere, WI; four grandchildren: Thomas, William, Cody (Allison), and Cameron; four great grandchildren: Leila, Sawyer, Charlotte, and Josephine. He is further survived by his sister, Marlene Cory; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bev (Don) Feldkamp, Leone (Jim) Pahl, Lois (Jim) Lemke, Dick Smudde, Linda (Don) Moehring, Ralph (Cheryl Van Toll), Ken (Julie) Smudde, Steve (Sue) Smudde, Mary (Joe) Greiner, and Brian Smudde.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene Dupont; infant sister Mary Dupont; sister Charlotte and brother-in-law Frank Gossens; brother-in-law Bill Cory; sisters-in-law Kathy Smudde and Joyce Smudde.

A private service for family will be held at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna. A public Celebration of Life will he held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Lake Park Pub, N8904 Lake Park Rd., Menasha from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. where all are invited to help celebrate Dave’s life.
