David Arnold

David L. (Dave/Arnie) Arnold, Seymour, WI, age 77, passed away peacefully into eternal life on Friday, June 18, 2021. Dave was born October 9, 1943 to Harry and Betty (Schnieder) Arnold and grew up in Kaukauna attending Kaukauna High School. Shortly after high school, he honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 as a C-130 mechanic with service in California and Japan. After separation from the service, Dave worked as a mechanic at Gustman Chevrolet in Seymour and Kaukauna until his retirement in 2008. Dave married Barbara (Kersten) of Kaukauna on March 9, 1968 and settled in Seymour until his passing.

Over the years, Dave enjoyed amateur (ham) radio, RC Airplanes, fishing, “tinkering”, the Green Bay Packers, traveling to Florida in the winter, a good fish fry at “the corners”, and most notably camping up north in Florence, WI. He was also a member of the American Legion and proud of his service to his country.

Dave is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barb; sister Suzy (Tom) Gustman; son’s Shane and Ryan (Jen) Arnold and his grandchildren Alyson and Erick. Additionally, he is survived by brothers and sister-in-law’s; Ron and Jamie Kersten, Sharon Glasheen, Mariann and Don Schumacher, Bill and Rachel Kersten and Brian and Dar Kersten. Dave also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Dave was a loving and carefree man whose sense of humor would put a smile on anyone’s face.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Betty Arnold; in-laws, Earl (Quabe) and Anna Mae (Annie) Kersten, brother-in-law Tom Kersten, nephew Cody Kersten and niece Ginger Vancsek.

A celebration of life for Dave will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 4:00 PM at the VERKUILEN VAN DEURZEN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna.  A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.verkuilenfh.com.
