Daniel J. Gerow, 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Dan was born the third child, and only son, of Francis and Joan (Kilgas) Gerow on June 28, 1961.
Dan graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1980, and was employed by Thilmany Papers for more than 25 years. Dan loved to spend time outdoors. His father taught him to hunt and fish at a young age, and he maintained a passion for hunting and fishing throughout his life. He especially enjoyed spending time at the family cottage, where he hosted a golf tournament with friends every summer. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed live music, and was fond of sports and movies.
Dan is survived by his son, Rory (Michelle) Gerow, daughter, Ali (Brandon) Hellenbrand, the mother of their children, Suze Walker, and grandchildren, Bennett and Paige Hellenbrand and Mara King. He is further survived by his father, Francis, his five sisters, affectionately known as “The Sisters”, Pat (Tom) Mooney, Sue McCabe, Mary Ann Stingle, Amy (Kevin) Schroeder, Linda (Gary) Tessen, two godsons, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was looking forward to meeting his fourth grandchild due to be born next month.
He was greeted in Heaven by his mother, Joan, brother-in-law, Bruce McCabe, nephew Kevin McCabe, and good friend Dave LeMay.
The funeral mass for Dan will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Katharine Drexel, St. Mary site, 119 W. 7th St., Kaukauna with a luncheon to follow. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass at church. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kaukauna the following day at 10:00 a.m.
