Clifford P. Pheifer

Clifford Patrick Pheifer, 67, passed away peacefully at home with his wife at his side on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022. He was born on February 6th, 1955 to the late Alan and Patricia Pheifer in Neenah, WI. Cliff graduated from Neenah High School and then from Fox Valley Technical College as a Machinist. He worked as a machinist and welder before becoming disabled with Pompe Disease.

Cliff married Deborah on June 13th, 1986 and together they raised two children: Jason Matthew Lockery and Rebecca Anne Pheifer. On August 1st, 2007 they became grandparents to Jackson.

Cliff loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and especially fishing. He will be missed by many friends and family members especially those in Challenge the Outdoors and his trap shooting team The Sitting Ducks.

Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debbie; children Jason and Rebecca and his grandson Jackson. He is further survived by his brothers: Dave (Cindy) Pheifer, Mike (Mona) Pheifer, Keith (Paula) Pheifer and Curt (Cindy) Pheifer; brothers-in-law Pat (Nancy Seversen) McHugh, Mike McHugh and Luke McHugh. Cliff is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Cliff is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Tim McHugh and sister-in-law Marian McHugh.

The family would like to thank Community Care, the Genetics Team at Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee and Christian Servant’s for their long-term care of Cliff. The family would also like to thank ThedaCare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during this difficult time.

Cliff made the generous decision to donate his body to Duke University for the study of Pompe Disease in hopes that it helps others with the disease.

A memorial service for Cliff will be held on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna location 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, at 11:00 A.M.
