Clifford F. Mathis

Clifford F. Mathis, 85, of Hortonville passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Brewster Village.  Cliff was born on December 3, 1936 to Peter and Theresa (Kern) Mathis at home in Kaukauna.  He graduated from Kaukauna High School.  Cliff worked at Badger Northland until he retired.  He had a cottage on Butternut Lake and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Cliff is survived by his siblings; Mary Joan Bryers, Illinois, Nancy Ross, Neenah, Dorothy (Dick) Beschta, Appleton, Carol (Jerry) Van Der Steen, Kaukauna, and Mike (Dawn) Mathis, Georgia, best friends and neighbors Harry and Beth Steenbock, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Cliff was preceded in death by his children; Shirley and Eddie, parents, two brothers-in-law Bill Bryers and Byron Ross and a nephew, Jeremy Mathis of Georgia.

The funeral service for Cliff will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Verkuilen Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna.  A time of visitation will be held on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kaukauna at a later date.  For online condolences please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
