Kaukauna – Claude L. Kihl, age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 6, 2021. He was born on February 26, 1945, son of the late Claude and Winifred (Van Dyke) Kihl. Claude graduated from Menasha High School with the class of 1963. He married Sandy Jansen on February 12, 1966, and together they shared 31 years of marriage before her passing in 1998.
He was employed by Neenah Foundry for 42 years before retiring in 2008.
Claude was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Athelstane, where he loved to hunt, fish and to pick berries to share with others. He also enjoyed woodworking and was especially fond of making benches and picnic tables for family and friends.
Claude is survived by his children: Kevin (Ginny) Kihl, Mike (Veronica) Kihl, Steve (Caryn) Kihl and Lisa (Scott) Freund; Grandchildren: Sam, Eli and Jenna Kihl, Hannah and Hayden Kihl; Fiancé, Betty Whiteley; sister, June Wicihowski; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; parents, Claude and Winifred Kihl; siblings: Clyde, Robert, Gladys, Emily, Doris, Arlene, Irene, James and Dorothy.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish – St. Mary Site, 119 W. 7th Street, Kaukauna. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass.
