Cindy Louise DeBruin (née Guckenberger), 67, of Kimberly, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026. Cindy was born on October 8, 1958, to Anthony and Charlotte Guckenberger. She spent much of her life in the Kimberly area and built a life centered on family, kindness, and creativity.
On February 13, 1982, Cindy married the love of her life, Richard “Rick” DeBruin. Together they shared 44 years of marriage and built a life filled with love and lasting memories.
Cindy worked for many years at James River Corporation, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.
Family meant everything to Cindy. She especially treasured the time she spent with her nieces and nephews, and later with her great-nieces and great-nephews, who brought her tremendous joy. She was also honored to serve as godmother to several of her nieces and nephews. She loved researching the family tree and took great pride in learning about her family’s history and heritage.
Cindy had many interests and passions. She enjoyed crafting and quilting, collecting dolls, and planning family parties that brought everyone together. She also loved spending time fishing with her dad, creating memories that she cherished throughout her life. Cindy was a devoted caregiver who lovingly cared for her aunt and later for her mother.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Charlotte Guckenberger; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roger and Mary Ann DeBruin; and her beloved pets, Tammy, Tippy, and Tanya.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Richard “Rick” DeBruin; her siblings, Mark (Debbie), David (Debra), Donald, and Vicki (Charles); and her siblings-in-law, Carol (Bruce), Janice (Ted), Steven (Kelly), Lynn (Andy), and Jimmy (Sue), along with 19 nieces and nephews, and 25 great-nieces and great-nephews who she loved dearly.
She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her warm heart, and the kindness she showed to everyone around her. Cindy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private service will be held for immediate family only.
