Cheryl A. Baumgart, age 77, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on June 25, 2025. She was born on January 21, 1948, daughter of the late Victor “Ickie” and Marie (Schermitzler) Van Drasek. On May 24, 1969, Cheryl married Kieth Baumgart at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna. They celebrated nearly 50 years of marriage before his passing in April of 2019.
Cheryl had a deep love for her grandchildren and attending each of their sporting events, concerts, and extra-curricular activities. She never missed an opportunity to be by their sides growing up through the years. The entire family took several vacations together that Cheryl treasured. She also enjoyed making many family memories at the cottage on Lake Poygan.
Cheryl enjoyed going for walks, going out to dinner and having conversations with her many dear friends. She had so many friends from different groups that have remained close for many years. Her “Hens”, the pool team, the St. Mary’s Group and many others were so significant in her life.
Cheryl had a love for knitting. She knitted countless slippers for her family and friends, and she especially enjoyed making infant hats for the local hospitals.
Cheryl is survived by her children: Brad (Sherri) Baumgart, Tammie (Trever) Bauer, Troy (Jen) Baumgart and Ashley (Mike) Jones; grandchildren: Braden, Mia and Addison Baumgart, Mason, Riley and Pierson Bauer, Reese and Ryker Baumgart, Seth Baumgart, and Mikey Jones; in-laws: Elaine, Clyde (Charmaine), Clayton (Avita), Darryl (Mary), Earl (Sandy) and Jeff (Jean) Baumgart, Yvonne (Ron) Kubat and Judy Baumgart; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Kieth; parents, Ickie and Marie Van Drasek; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Catherine Baumgart; granddaughters: Skye and Starr; in-laws: Wayne, Karen, and Cletus Baumgart.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna. Visitation will be at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the Mass. A celebration will continue after the Mass at Van Abels in Hollandtown. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna.
