Charlotte Bloy Obituary

Charlotte Bloy, 92, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1932, to the late Josephine and Albert Kersten.

On May 16, 1956, Charlotte was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Adolph, with whom she shared 68 wonderful years. Together, they built a loving family, which was the joy of her life.

Charlotte is survived by her children: Karen Harris, Sandy (Emmet) Welter, Diane Bloy and her special friend Chris Voet, and Julie Bloy. She was a proud grandmother to Kara VerVoort, Kenn Harris and his partner Katie McCormick, Kayla Harris, Emily (Brett) Vanden Hoogen, Amy Welter, Kellsey (Micah) Schwantes, Amanda Pyke, Hunter (Lacey) Bloy, Elizabeth (Elijah) Owen, and Ramsey (Kristy) Bloy. Her cherished great-grandchildren include Bradyn Kiedrowski, Aliyah Pyke, Jensen VerVoort, Grant Schwantes, Serena and Adrienne Bloy, Francis, Lucy, and Julie Owen, and a soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter, Novella Joy Bloy, expected in October.

She is further survived by her siblings Marion Zwick, Bob (Mary) Kersten, and Mike (Carrie) Kersten; and her sister-in-law, Pat Bloy. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; son, Gary Bloy; grandson, Jake Welter; son-in-law, Kenneth Harris; and siblings Joan (Jim) Jaeckels, Nancy (Clarence) Bowers, Betty Kersten, and Ray (Bonnie) Kersten.

Charlotte spent many years as a dedicated homemaker, raising her family and sharing her talents for cooking, baking, and gardening. After her children were grown, she worked as a CNA at a local nursing facility until her retirement. Family was always at the heart of Charlotte’s life—her home was filled with board games, toys, chocolate chip cookies, and ice cream for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Holidays were never complete without her signature orange Jell-O salad.

She enjoyed reading romance novels, solving word puzzles, and spending time at the family’s camper on Shawano Lake. Charlotte loved the outdoors—especially birdwatching for cardinals—and took pride in her gardens, particularly her vibrant fall mums. With Adolph, she enjoyed many bus trips to destinations such as Las Vegas, Nashville, Branson, and Washington, D.C. She was also an enthusiastic fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.

Charlotte will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, strong faith, and deep devotion to her family. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to St. Paul Elder Services and Theda Clark Appleton’s 7th floor staff for the compassionate care provided to Charlotte in her final days.
