Charles Steven Lueck passed away on September 7th 2024 at the age of 80. Affectionately referred to as Charlie, Chuck, Chas, by friends and family.
Chuck was born in Appleton WI to Frank and Sophie (Dorn) Lueck on April 9th, 1944. He was the baby of the family after his 5 older siblings and grew up in the modest but loved house on Circle St. He attended St. Therese Grade School (1952-58) St Mary’s High School (58-59) followed by Xavier High School (59-62) where he was a star athlete in football and basketball. He attended St. Norbert College, De Pere WI (1962-66) followed by UW Madison Law School (1966-69.)
He was admitted to the state bar in 1969 and was an Attorney at Law for the University of Wisconsin (1969-2002) where he practiced Higher Education Law. He traveled extensively during his career giving speeches and presentations on the new and developing higher education field of law.
Chuck was a very social guy and loved to talk to people. In later years he moved from Madison where he had old flames, many buddies and professional friends, and settled in Cottage Grove WI. He enjoyed hanging out with friends at the 1855 Saloon. He loved fast cars was an avid fan of auto racing for 30+ years. Road America in Elkhart Lake WI was a favorite place.
Chuck loved and stayed close to his family in Appleton and Milwaukee as well as many nieces and nephews. He is survived by nieces and nephews and wonderful lifelong friend Elisabeth Noone. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Sophie, brothers; Jim Lueck, Bob (Kathleen) Lueck and sisters; Joanne (Larry) De Groot, Theresa (Murray) Weiss and Mary Lueck.
