Carol J. Hietpas

Carol J. Hietpas (DuFrane), age 79, passed away on August 27, 2021. She was born on December 6, 1941, daughter of the late Lawrence and Johanna DuFrane. Carol married Lyle Hietpas on January 24, 1960, and he preceded her in death in 2019.

Carol loved to craft, loved all her family unconditionally and many friends whom a lot of them called her Ma. She spent many hours with her grandchildren teaching them; lessons of life and how to be artistic crafty caring and respectful.

Over the years, Carol held various jobs and owned the Lady Bug Ceramic Shop. Her and Lyle also owned the L&C Lounge (now Up the Hill bar) in Little Chute. This is where Carol was a social butterfly. Over the years she enjoyed her night out shooting darts and watching Packer games.

Carol is survived by her sons: Steve “Moe” (Judy) Hietpas, Daniel (Connie) Hietpas and Tim “Tubby” (Tanya Rae) Hietpas; grandchildren: Ben (Ashley) Hietpas, Nick (fiancé Ashley) Hietpas, Heather Hietpas, Brandon Hietpas, Alex (Alyssa) Hietpas, and Alyssa Hietpas, Breanna and Connor Lamers; great grandchildren: Sam Vanderloop, Lyrick and Lucy Hietpas and Alden Hietpas; siblings: Agnes Smarzinski, Delores Bouder and Edward “Sonny” DeFrane; brothers and sisters-in-law: Tony (Betty) Hietpas, Dick (Kathy) Hietpas, Ron (Jan) Hietpas, Leon (Mary) Hietpas, Marlene (Ron) Brown, Jerry (Rose) Hietpas, George Hietpas and Audrey Deleeuw; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lyle Hietpas; parents, Lawrence and Johanna DuFrane; an infant daughter, Sarah Hietpas; father and mother-in-law, George and Lillian Hietpas; siblings: Lawrence (Marian) DuFrane, Harold (June) DuFrane, Frances (Carl) Zwiers, Levi (Mitzi) DuFrane and Rosella (Marv) Schumacher.  

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home LITTLE CHUTE LOCATION, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute.
