Carol Ann (Gerhartz) Biese

Kaukauna – Carol Ann Biese, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on December 29, 2025. She was born on June 17, 1940, daughter of the late Vic and Germila Gerhartz. On May 14, 1960, she married Paul Biese at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Carol attended St. Mary School and graduated from Kaukauna High School with the class of 1958. She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Carol worked at the Piggly Wiggly in Little Chute for many years before her retirement. She loved shopping for her grandchildren and reading a good book. She enjoyed sharing books and stories with her friends, family and neighbors. Carol was a very good cook and would always make sure everyone had leftovers to take with them. She even fed “Squirrely”, the squirrel in her backyard, a peanut butter sandwich every day for many years. Carol and Paul enjoyed traveling to visit family in Oklahoma and Florida. Carol also enjoyed getting into character with Paul when it was time to make their annual Halloween card. Most of all, Carol loved her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Carol is survived by her children: Vicki (special friend, Tim) McCrumb, Mark (Donna) Biese, Mike Biese, Tim Biese, Sara (Scott) Hurt and Nick (Melissa) Biese; grandchildren: Sam (fiancé, Catherine) Biese, Emily (special friend, Alex) Biese, Brittany (special friend, Alex) McCrumb, Brooke (special friend, Tyson) Biese, Morgan (fiancé, Hayden) Biese, Tyler (special friend, Esther) Biese, Madi Deering and Austin Biese; great grandchildren: Aluna and Leon; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joanne Buechler, Pat (Bert) McIntyre, Lance Goetzman and Danny Biese; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Biese; parents, Vic and Germila Gerhartz; sister, Sandy (Tom) Lopas; father and mother-in-law, Ben and Elizabeth Biese; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gene (Betty) Biese, MaryLee (Erv) Rosenow, Richard (Dorothy) Biese, Delores (Richard) Gerrits, Donna Goetzman, Gene Buechler and Rita Biese.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
