Bret A. Saathoff, 58, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Bret was born on January 25, 1966 to Garry and Sharon (Lang) Saathoff in Belleville, IL. Bret moved around to many places in his youth and graduated from Purdue University. After graduating, he started working for Tate and Lyle as a mechanical engineer and worked his way up to VP of Industrial Starch Sales for Primient. On September 5, 1998 he was united in marriage to Gail Kluck. He traveled extensively for work and for fun. Bret was a big Packer fan, and enjoyed Nascar racing. He was an Eric Church fan and a proud Purdue Alumni.
Bret is survived by his wife Gail, two children; Ashley and Cole, his mom, Sharon Saathoff, a brother Todd (Dianna) Saathoff, mother-in-law and father-in-law Bob and Connie Kluck, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Scott (Karla) Kluck, Amy (Kurt) Ahrens, and Nicole Kluck, nieces and nephews; Zachary Saathoff, Katelyn Saathoff, Logan Kluck, Evan Ahrens, and Emily Ahrens along with other relatives, and friends. Bret was preceded in death by his dad Garry and his maternal grandparents, Edna and Shorty Lang and his paternal grandparents, Wanetta and Ellswood Saathoff.
The funeral service for Bret will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Verkuilen Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, March 15 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
