Bernard “Bernie” J. Ver Bust, 90, passed away Thursday evening, June 11, 2026, surrounded with love by his family. Bernie was born on July 22, 1935 at home in Kimberly to Alfonse and Lucy (Van Roy) Ver Bust. Bernie married his high school sweetheart Janet (Newhouse) on Nov 20, 1956 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Janet; three children: Joanne (Don) Sievers of Kimberly, Bill (Judy) Ver Bust of Freedom, Mike (Dawn) Ver Bust of Ashwaubenon; son-in-law, David Killian of Darboy; grandchildren: Nicole Stegall, Angela, Stephanie and Rebecca Sievers, Ryan (Marley) Killian, Amy (J) Finster, Sara (Evan) Guell, Matt (Kristen) Ver Bust, Tom (Leah) Ver Bust, Alyssa Ver Bust, Chris (girlfriend, Rachel)  Ver Bust; and 24 great grandchildren. Bernie was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen (Ver Bust) Killian; his parents; brothers: Fr. Richard Ver Bust, and Donald Ver Bust; and his in-laws: Lloyd and Millie Newhouse.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 600 E Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly. Visitation will take place at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Aspire Senior Living. We would also like to thank the Chaplain and the nurses from Moments Hospice.
