Bernadel “Bernie” Ann Green passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on May 2, 2026. Bernie was 80 years old.
Bernie was born on September 27, 1945, in Appleton, WI to her parents Martin and Veronica (Eisch) Van Der Burgt. She married Earl Green on April 24, 1965. Bernie worked at various companies during her working years but took the most pride in being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family at the cottage in Northern Wisconsin, playing cards with her siblings, and sharing stories over lunch with girlfriends.
Bernie is survived by her children: Dan (Laurie) Green of Madison, Deb (Shawn) Volk of Combined Locks, Kelly (Dave) Janssen of Little Chute; six grandchildren: Jordan (Vanessa) Janssen, Chase (Emmy) Janssen, Max Volk, Mitchell Volk, Cassi Janssen and Hunter (fiancé Kaitlyn Kerrigan) Janssen; great grandson, Miles Janssen and great grandchild Janssen due in August; siblings: Joanne (Bill) Ebben, Jim Van Der Burgt, Judy Hendricks, and Rose (Ron) Garvey. She is further survived by her sisters and brother-in-law: Carol Van Der Burgt, Elaine Bowers, Jim Golden and Donna Woldt.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Earl; her parents, Martin and Veronica; her stepfather, Les Sanders; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Norbert and Harriet Green; her brother, Adrian Van Der Burgt; sisters-in-law: Joyce Golden, Janet Van Hoof and Ethel Van Der Burgt; brothers-in-law: Dan Bowers, Jim Van Hoof, Robert Woldt, and Ralph Hendricks.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at St. John Nepomuncene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
