Barbara J. DuFrane, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 11, 2025. She was born on February 14, 1954 in Appleton, daughter of the late Russell Sr. and Ann (Gazzillo) Schultz.
On November 7, 1970 she was united in marriage to James DuFrane at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Together, they shared 41 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and adventure before James’s passing in 2012. Barb dedicated over 30 years of service to Appleton Medical Center, where she worked in the Physical Therapy Department. She was known for her compassion, dedication, and willingness to lend a helping hand in any role she took on. Her coworkers and patients alike appreciated her gentle nature and her ability to make others feel cared for and valued.
In her free time, Barbara loved hunting for treasures at thrift stores and rummage sales, always finding joy in the simple things. Prior to James’s passing, the two of them made many memories traveling to different casinos. She was also a loyal fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers, rarely missing a game and cheering on her teams. Her warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
