Aureta "Rita" E. Wuyts, age 86 of Kaukauna WI, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021. She was born on June 1, 1935 in Kaukauna, WI to Woodrow. and Esther I. (Thyrion) Toms. Rita married Robert G. Wuyts on July 1, 1953. Rita organized the City of Kaukauna’s first UNICEF drive in the 60’s. She was president of the Fox Valley Legal Professionals Association and received its Award of Excellence in 1989. She served on Board of FVTC, wrote and performed a video for FVTC on Probate terminology. She served on the City of Kaukauna Board of Appeals and was an active member of her church, Peace United Methodist. Rita served as a Teacher and Superintendent of the Sunday School, was the Chairman of Memorials, Finance, Education and Pastor/Parish Relation Committees. Rita was a long-standing member of its Building Committee. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as a mission coordinator for Spiritual Growth for Winnebago District of UMW. Rita retired from McCarty Law on June 1, 1994 as its Probate Paralegal after 24 and a half years of service. In her retirement, she looked forward to monthly luncheons with the McCarty-Law Retirees and her monthly meetings with the Esther Circle of the Peace United Methodist Women. She doted on her grandchildren and thought they were God’s reward for a life fully lived. She was thankful for Facebook and email that connected her with her grandchildren. Rita enjoyed escaping into a good book and thought the e-book was a marvelous invention. Summers were enjoyed at “Belly Acres” on beautiful Berry Lake for many years with family reunions, pontoon rides and friends, the Edward Koleskes and the Len Mennings.
Rita is survived by her children; Kathryn (Douglas) Krueger of Berry Lake, Sally Wuyts of Kaukauna and Laura Anholzer of Kaukauna, grandchildren; Dr. Dawn Hillman, Greeley Co., Lt. Col. Robert (Chandra) Krueger, Bonaire, Georgia, Raenee (Jaime) Delgado, Ft Cobb, OK, Michelle (Justus) Nichols, Geeley CO, Joseph (Friend Mellissa) Wuyts of Appleton WI, step grandchild, Robert (Amanda), Franklin, Springfield Tennessee, great grandchildren; Michael Delgado, Isabella Delgado, Brady Hillman, Jacob Nichols, Timothy Nichols, Emmalynn Nichols, Soeren Krueger, Morgen Krueger, step-great-grandchildren; Cameron Franklin and Caden Franklin, siblings; Judith (Robert) Millard, New London, WI, Ollie (Robin) Toms, Freedom WI. She is further survived by her special nephew, Erik Toms and special niece, Karen Diedrick and many other loved nieces and Nephews.
Rita is proceeded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years and grandchildren; Jessica and Sarah Smet; sisters-in-law; Anna Rademacher, Bertha Zahn, Emma Terry and Florence Blair; brothers-in-law, Albert Wuyts, Harold Wuyts, Carl Wuyts and Jack Wuyts and son-in-law; Steven Anholzer.
The memorial service for Rita will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at PEACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2300 E. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna with Pastor Freddie Kirk officiating.
