Anna Mae (Vandenberg) Huss

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Mae (Vandenberg) Huss, who passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 95, with her children by her side. Surrounded by the love of her family, she left this world knowing how deeply she was cherished.
Anna Mae was born on October 6, 1930, in Freedom, Wisconsin, to Edward “Punkin” and Mary (Geurts) Vandenberg. On June 24, 1952, Anna Mae married her sweetheart, Emil Huss, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and love. They shared 65 wonderful years together and created a legacy that continues through the generations of family they cherished so deeply.
A loving wife; mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Anna Mae's greatest joy was her family. She dedicated her life to caring for others and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and caring heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She will be remembered for her wisdom, resilience, warm smile, and the countless memories she created with family and friends over the years.
Anna Mae is survived by her loving children: Mark Huss (Jeanne Zellner), Karen (Dave) Hurtgen, Kristi (Roger) Schuh, and Jeff (Michelle) Huss; she was a proud and devoted grandmother to: Nicki (Gordy) Vandenberg; Jordan, Kasey, Nicole Hurtgen; Bailey (Nick) Haydon, Kennedy (Alex) Ronsman, Gracie Wendt, Mekaila (Bob) Novitski, Alaina (Alex) Jens, Isley Schuh; Aubrey and Sophia Huss; she was also blessed to have great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Camden Vandenberg and Evelyn Novitski.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emil Huss; her grandson, Ryan Huss; her parents, Edward and Mary (Geurts) Vandenberg; her siblings: Robert "Casey" Vandenberg, Elaine (Don) Huss; brother in-law, Clifford (Valeria) Huss; sisters-in-law: Linda (Jim) Garvey, Evelyn (Walter) Radloff, Marie (Art) Coffey, Georgette (Lawrence) Radloff, and many other cherished family members and friends who welcomed her home.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Anna Mae is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before her. The love she shared so freely will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, W2037 County Road S, Freedom. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join the family for fellowship and a meal at the Colonial House following the burial.

Anna Mae's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the extraordinary staff at Country Villa in Freedom and St. Croix Hospice, for all their kindness, love and support. They allowed the family many precious years together.
