Alvin “Mike” Peters, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on November 10, 2022. He was surrounded by his family as he was reunited with the love of his life, Margaret, in Heaven.  Mike was born in Clintonville on June 10, 1935 to Ervin “Pete” and Ethel (Dilley) Peters. In high school, Mike was an all-around athlete lettering in baseball, basketball, and football. Mike proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from April 1951 to August 1955. He served as a lineman in the Korean War and was a Corporal at the time he was honorably discharged. He received the United Nations Service Metal, National Defense Service Metal, and the Korean Service Metal.  On November 24, 1955 he married Margaret Kroll at St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville. Mike was employed as a millwright at Appleton Papers Operations for over 40 years. As an adult, he enjoyed countless family activities. He had many friends and enjoyed playing in baseball and softball tournaments, bowling, golfing, and playing cards. Mike was a member of the Combined Locks Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years.  He was also an usher at St. Paul’s Church. Cooking numerous meals for COTS gave him great satisfaction. Later in life, he enjoyed watching sports and game shows on TV with Margaret along with their nightly games of Cribbage and cocktails.
