Allan Dix Obituary

Allan M. Dix, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay surrounded by his family. He was 60 years old.

Al was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Richard and Carol (Derfus) Dix on August 4, 1962. When he was four years old, his family relocated to Kaukauna where he resided for the remainder of his life.

After attending Kaukauna High School, Al began his career in the concrete business where he would earn the respect and admiration of those in the construction industry through his expertise and disciplined work ethic.

While his career brought him a sense of pride and accomplishment, it paled in comparison to meeting the love of his life, Judy Marx. They married on December 19, 1986, recently celebrating 36 years together. Raising two sons brought them many years of fond memories.

After years in the concrete business working for others, Al used the knowledge and skills he had acquired to start his own business from the ground up. Al Dix Concrete, founded in January of 1995, quickly became renowned in the Fox Valley area as one of the best.

Al was a skilled outdoorsman and loved being in nature. A fierce competitor, some of his best times were spent pursuing trophy bucks in Buffalo County and snagging more than his limit of perch in Michigan. To his family and friends, he will be remembered as a strong provider and a masterful storyteller. Being a grandpa brought him many smiles in recent years.

He is survived by his wife Judy; sons: Dylan (Mandy) Dix and Michael (Tonya) Dix and their children Austin, Ainsley, Caleb and Jaxen Dix. He is also survived by his dad, Richard Dix; brothers: Jim (special friend Valerie) Dix, Russ (Sarah) Dix, John (Ted) Dix; brothers and sisters-in-law: Pat Marx, Jack (Carol) Marx, Cathy Marx, Mary Campbell, Dale (Cindy) Marx, Jerry (Connie) Marx and Terry (Dave) Muntner; former brother-in-law, Scott Campbell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, each who held a special place in his heart.

Preceding Al in death were his mom, Carol: father and mother-in-law, Ed and Alice Marx; special uncle, Larry Dix; beloved niece and godchild Kelly (Dix) Fassbender; brother-in-law, Ed (Butch) Marx, and nephews-in-law: Phillip Marx and Andrew Campbell.
